Duane Allman Stormy Monday Style Lick

In this lesson I want to show you a Duane Allman style Stormy Monday Lick. This lesson is in the key of G. Duane had some really cool bends and attitude when he played the blues. The Live at Fillmore East version is a really cool example of Duane’s regular non-slide playing, which is just as impressive as his slide guitar playing.

  1. Holy crap! That’s a lot of bending. This is a crazy (but useful) lesson for beginners. Be careful.

  2. Thank you John, I have been wanting to learn this lick for months now and have not found it nor taken the time to analyze it from the recording. I will certainly put the time into now, again, thank you.

    John:
Thanks for releasing some duane solo
Work on stormy. If you ever do a DVD with both duane and dickeys solo and maybe what pedals us Fendee guys might use…there would be lines all over trying to get it.
Loved your blues course I purchased from you a few years back. I recall having a tech problem on one of the DVDs and contacted you about it. You were gracious. And I received a replacement in a day or two.
It is great to see you still on tune helping us. Regards ken mc Neil
