I keep saying over and over again about the importance of recording yourself to find out what you need to practice to get better. Well now I’m going to give you a real life example of this in action.
A customer of Learning Guitar Now has agreed to record himself playing slide guitar, observe where his playing is at, and then re-record himself 3 months from now to see his progress.
He has been playing slide guitar for 5 months and has worked through a few of my Open E Tuning Slide Guitar DVDs. I think he is off to a fantastic start. Congratulations Chris!
Today is June the 25th, 2010 at the time of this writing, so on around September 25th, 2010 we will see if his practicing has paid off. I think this is a great case study of why it is important to record yourself and then to look back and see how far you have progressed.
Here is where his slide guitar playing is at right now. - June 25th 2010

Be sure to re-visit this page in September to see the progress. You can keep up with the blog by RSS or email.
