Standard Tuning Slide Guitar Lesson

In this lesson, I want to show you how to play some standard tuning slide guitar licks in the key of G. The key of G is a great key to play slide guitar in standard tuning with due to the open strings you can utilize. Using the open d and open g strings you can create some really great sounding licks and solos.

I have created a full course on how to play slide guitar in standard tuning. You can check them out right here.

  • Thanks Bart!

I really like Open E the best, but standard tuning is really good to know.

  • Bravo, my man! Excellent! When I hear those power chords, I have been thinking, “That must be some type of open tuning.” Apparently not!

Which do you prefer: Open E or Standard?

    Thanks,
    Bart
