Slow Blues Guitar Lesson

July 5, 2011 /

In this lesson I want to show you a tip on how to start learning how to correctly play over a slow blues 12 bar progression. Learning how to play over the chords in a 12 bar blues is one of the most critical steps to learn when playing blues guitar. If you don’t start doing this, it will sound like you are just riffing all the time, which makes for a really boring blues guitar solo in my opinion. This slow blues guitar lesson is in the key of C. To learn more about playing over a slow blues, please check out my Blues Guitar Course.

  1. These are really good tips on playing some nice blues. Thanks. Also, bending up to a note instead of simply playing it is my favorite trick here.

  2. Hi John, I enjoy your videos, but just a small suggestion, the lessons would be more effective and interesting to the learner if he/she can see you talking, i mean if you show your face. Just my thought. 🙂
